A seasoned punter was laid up in bed Friday night with the bride by his side in bed, reading his copy of Saturdays form.
Ever the concerned father, he glanced up and looked at the couple’s baby, who had a slight cold. She was in her cot by their bed.
“Baby’s nose is running again,” he commented to his wife, who was nose deep in a month-old copy of New Idea as he returned to his paper.
His wife snorted. “That’s all you ever think about – racing!”

Collingwood head to Sydney and will take on GWS in a Friday night that promised a bit at the start of the season. However, the Pies were dominant last week in their 44-point win over St Kilda, while GWS, on the other hand, seemed more interested in playing the man and not the ball in their loss. Combined with the Pies having won 11 of their last 13 away games, take them to get up by 39 or less at $2.15.
On Saturday Richmond will tackle St Klida with boths sides coming off losses. The Saints let the pies throw them around, while the Tigers were just awful. A big in for them thought this week with Dusty, and its area this Tigers side loses 2 on the trot, so Richmond by 39 or less at $1.92.

Melbourne meet New Zealand tonight at a neutral venue with all things being equal, it shouldn’t help the Warriors. Even though the Storm lost last week, they are a tight crew that knows how to pick up the pieces, while the Warriors haven’t beaten them in their last 8 encounters. Melbourne by 13+ at $1.62.
And Sydney to meet St George tonight as well with both sides bringing in terrific form. The Roosters showed their class last week and the Dragons have been performing comfortably the last 2 weeks. The departure of Reynolds is a huge out for St George, and with the inclusion of Collins for the Roosters, its hard to go past Sydney at $1.65 to win by 13+.

Caulfield gets the nod this week for our attention and we are going for value. R4, No.4 Gododdin won this prep 5 starts ago and has had a couple of places. Does have an affinity for this track and with Brad Rawiller on board who knows how to handle him, the $7.50 out there is properly good. Value elsewhere in R2, No.6 No Say In It. 2 places this prep, and while last Flemington start wasn’t great, fitness will be peaking and the step back in distance should see a sustained run. Get amongst the $7.50 being thrown around.
